Miss Harpers room!

Seriously everything has been so busy, specially after having Harper I don't really have time for myself or to post much of anything! So after along time and still not done with the room I decided to post it before it was too late. There are still pictures that need to be put into frames and letters that need to be hung. Other than that we have pretty much finished the whole thing! Its such an amazing accomplishment to actually have it done, I can't wait for Harper to be able to sleep in there. Ignore the lines in the photos its from the edit I used.

All the things in her room including the bed skirt, curtains, sheets, & changing pad cover were made by mom! A special thanks to all the things she did for us and Harper! Everything was picked out by my husband and I, we wanted it to be "different" from most.

1. We made her crib & the pom pom balls the main focus of the room.
2. The closet was hard at first to organize but after trying a lot of different things we figured it out.
3. we added shadow boxes to put little things in to spice in the room.
4. Her dresser is another focal point, being a huge piece of furniture it really does stand out and make the room more "unique."
5. This is a look into her room standing at the door.
6.  Another view of her closet.
7. Her diaper pale that sits in-between the crib & dresser.
8. A look up at her pictures that are above her dresser, we still need to put pictures in most of them.
9. Another view of her crib.

I hope everyone enjoys her nursery!

Rocking chair!

I will have to say I really suck at this whole blogging thing! I always think of things I should post and totally forget! So here we are 38 and a half weeks pregnant and we had not found a rocker... Okay wait... We found the PERFECT one but they stopped making it.. I was heart broken, not only did it fit perfectly in our nursery but it would have matched our living room furniture for the future.. Here it is...

So over memorial day weekend I convinced Darrell to take me to RC Willy so we could hopefully find one! Guess what!!! We found one!!

At first I was super worried about the pattern, for how picky I am about the nursery and what goes in there I was like no way! But.. Our girl Cindy brought out two huge things of fabric we could choose from that didn't have to have that pattern! I knew it was the one and probably better quality then the one we wanted at first! We even got a deal since it was Memorial Day weekend sale!

It will be a light grey like shown in the picture above.. The only sad part is its going to take 4 weeks for it to be delivered! That means that we won't have it when Miss Harper arrives and I will probably reveal the nursery after it gets here unless your lucky and I decide I want to show everyone! This is the last and final piece before revealing the nursery, so we are super close!

Lamp Shade

I have really loved decorating the babies room and doing all different types of projects! It's fun to know that I actually did that! One of them has been a lamp for her dresser to add some style and more pink to the room. I will add that the shade was a little messy and hard to cut all the burlap at first, totally worth it though! I found the tutorial on Pinterest (of course!)

the first think I did was tape off the areas that I didn't want painted on the lamp. We then spray painted it a hot pink!
I then measured the lamp shade and cover it with burlap to give it a good texture on the back.
I cut the strips of burlap about two inches across and eleven in length. After I had all the strips I thought I needed I clipped them at the ends and ironed them in half!
After I cut and ironed all the pieces I started gluing wherever I though looked good!
I personally think the lamp turned out perfect, I would't have done it any differently!

Makeup Products I use daily!

When it comes to makeup I am a freak, I’m always trying to find the best products that work for my skin. I am definitely not a Walmart shopper when it comes to it either, I splurge majorly! I also love to watch tutorials and reviews on makeup before I go purchase it unless someone recommends it when I ask at Sephora. It seems like everyone asks what products I use or where I get this or that so here are the products I use on a regular basis.

I put them in order from what i use first to last.

Laura Mercier Oil Free Primer: I have been using this products for awhile now and absolutely love it! I had never really used a primer for my face before just because I didn't think it had a purpose but it does. I apply it to my face before I add any makeup to make sure my makeup stays longer, I also have to have oil free since my skin it so oily around my nose and lips. I purchase this at Sephora for $42 and it lasts me a good four months or more.
Sephora Eye Concealer:  I have recently tried this new concealer and it seems to work great so far. I have really dark circled under my eyes, mainly from genetics. It helps with it but I feel like it could cover a little more, it only takes a little bit to cover so this tube will last a really long time! The color that I use is 10 Ivory and its $16 at Sephora.
Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation: If you suffer from oily skin like me you basically buy everything oil free just in case! This stuff is wonderful, I love all of her products and don't plan on switching. You hardly have to use any to really get full coverage, its silky, smooth, and really light weight. I also purchase this at Sephora for $42 and I am the color Warm Ivory.
Elf Studio High Definition Power: If you have ever doubted Elf products please don't they are wonderful! When I first purchased from them I was a little thrown back from there amazing prices! I could't imagine a product so cheap actually worked the way it does! I have truly loved every product I have purchased from them, this power seals my foundation and makes my skin super soft. I will have to admin that it makes me look super white but I just add a powder over it and it works amazing! I believe you can purchase there products in stores like Target but I haven't been able to find any in my area. I purchase it from the Elf website for $6.
Laura Mercier Mineral Powder: I hate just applying power to my face without foundation, I feel that it doesn't cove the way I want it too. I add this after my HD Powder and it turns my skin back to the color it needs to be. Like I said before I love her products and have really enjoyed using them. I use the Natural beige  and also purchase this at Sephora for $35.
Elf Studio Bronzer: I LOVE bronzer, this stuff is really shimmery and gorgeous. I use it around my cheeks and on my face to really highlight the areas that need to be. I bought this from the amazing reviews and awesome price of $3! I know its amazing that something so good can be that cheap, I purchased this on the Elf website and got the Warm Bronzer.
Elf Fuchsia Fusion Blush: I have recently really started using blush and really like how it makes my face look. This color has  a shimmer to it but nothing thats over powering. I thought it was going to be really pink and make me look like a clown be it's actually really pretty. I purchased it on the Elf website for $3.
DiorShow Iconic Mascara: Mascara is the only thing I use to buy from Walmart and I thought I would never switch, well I was wrong! When my Sister-in-law recommended this to me I knew I needed to at lead try it. It's kind of on the expensive side but It really does make my eyelashes look amazing. I absolutely hate waterproof mascara just because it never comes off and I seem to rip my lashed out (OUCH!) I purchased the Rich Black at Sephora for $28.50.
Victorias Secret Brilliant Shimmer Powder: Last but not least is the product I have been using for a good two years, and still have a lot left. I really hate being white so I add this to my chest and neck to blend in with my face. It has a shimmer to it and is a great color for all skin types. Unfortunately I tried to look for it at VS but they no longer sale it since i purchased it so long ago. I'm sure you can find it on eBay and other sites if you were interested. I believe I bought it for $15 at the time, it has really been worth the money!

Pregnancy Must Haves

Even though I still have nine weeks left I thought I would share my favorite things so far with you. I have more but these are the main ones. You would think I'm crazy for how much I needed this stuff, it wouldn't be easy without out!

Mama mío Goodbye Stretch Marks: Now I know as well as everyone that you have to be pretty gifted to not get stretch marks through pregnancy. They run in my family and I have had them before pregnancy because of gaining weight when I got married. This is stuff is truly amazing, it's so soft, creamy, & smells good even though I had to ignore the big price tag at seventy dollars a bottle! After reading all the reviews I knew I had to at least try it, the sad part is i'v only been using it for a week or so. So far I love it and hopefully it will make all these little love marks go away!
Shea Sugar Body Scrub: I absolutely hate dry patchy skin, this stuff is awesome! I always use it in the shower and I cover my whole body with it. I have tried a couple different kinds but my favorite is the Coconut Lime (so yummy!) I have also always had dry elbows, I use it to scrub them and they are super soft now. I believe that its ten dollars at Fred Meyers but it will last you six months or more depending on how much you use it!
Rosebud strawberry lip balm: This stuff smells so delicious! Every time I get it out my dog thinks that she can eat it. I am usually stuck on my carmex since its the only thing that works for me but this stuff seems better. I have it sitting in my night stand right next to my bed, every time I feel that my lips are dry I put it on and it last forever. I feel throughout my pregnancy my lips have been more dry, it really has helped. You can purchase this at Anthropologie.
Mountain Dew: Of course everyone knows what this is, only the best drink through my pregnancy next to ice tea! At the beginning of my pregnancy I would drink this all day but I have really cut back and try not to drink it more than once a day. It has really saved me on my caffein cravings, luckily its the only soda I crave.
Whole Fruit fruit bars: amazing to say the least, they satisfy those late night sweets craving! Thankfully they are only 70 calories and taste so delicious! Great alternative to ice cream and made with real fruit, love them!
